Crazy young man with the only goal of becoming a hero. He begs the famed hero trainer Fil to take him as a disciple, but ultimately he prefers to train Hercules. However, that doesn't detract from the cheeky and always upbeat character of this cheeky boy.

Crazy young man with the only goal of becoming a hero. Hades manages to control him and use him as a puppet thanks to the power of darkness, but Terra defeats him and makes him return to his being. After that, he sees Terra as his ideal hero and decides to train hard to become like him one day.
He appears in the Colosseum on Olympus in search of Philoctetes, who is known for training heroes and goes there hoping to become his apprentice. He meets Hercules and Ventus during a Nescientes attack and shows his skill in front of Fil. Since Fil only trains one of the students and already trains Hercules, he decides to form a competition between the two boys to help him make a decision: Hercules or Zack. Both reach the final of their respective block, since there was no other strong competitor in the other block (Only Terra). In fairness to Zack, Fil refuses to train Hercules, until he "wins" in a fight with Zack, prompting Hercules to train with Ventus. Ventus in the Colosseum, joins Zack and Hercules to defeat the needy who invade the world. Zack who aspires to become a great hero in later years, for which he trains daily with Fil to achieve it, befriends Ventus. Zack also shows a side of a romantic heartthrob, and proposes a date to Aqua, which she flushesly rejects. In Terra's story, he is a boss who must be defeated, and who has 3 bars of life. However, Fil chooses to train Hercules at the end of the credits, so Zack is disappointed and leaves the Coliseum, hoping one day to fulfill his dream.
During Hercules and Zack's confrontation in the semifinal round, an army of nescient appears in the city of Athens), and Ventus volunteers to finish them off so as not to ruin Hercules and Zack's combat. As he did not want his friend to get hurt, Hercules withdraws from the competition just a second before Zack imitates him. By default, Zack wins the match.
However, by the time Zack comes to help, the Nescient are already defeated. Fil then arrives and tells them that part of the important quality of a hero consists in the willingness to do what is right and fast, and, since Zack retired after Hercules, Hercules once again "becomes a student of Fil ". Ventus secretly asks Fil if he was ever serious about stopping Hercules' formation not to do so at all. Fil admits that Hercules was in a rut and that he needed that match, but he also recognizes Zack's potential. Although disappointed, Zack acknowledges his defeat with joy and optimism.
Later, Terra arrives at the Colosseum, and Hades tries to find a way to get Terra to succumb to darkness. Frustrated by Terra's advancement in the tournament, Hades sees Zack enter the Colosseum and uses the darkness of his heart to manipulate him. When Terra reaches the final round, Zack becomes his rival, but is relatively easily defeated by our hero. When Terra turns to leave, Zack gets up and attacks again, this time using the power of darkness and the most powerful attacks. Terra notices the change of power that had and also perceived the deception of Hades and fighting seriously wins the fight again, freeing Zack from control of the control of the god of the underworld.
After their second battle, Terra helps Zack and introduces himself. Zack tells Terra that he portrays him as what a hero would be because of his attitude, even though Terra says he is not one. Zack denies this claim and claims to be that being a hero or not is not something he chooses, and after watching the battle, both the crowd and Zack applaud the chosen one of the Keyblade and consider him a hero. Before Terra's departure, the two promised a rematch, one where Zack would use his own strength.
Later, Zack meets with Aqua while she is talking to Fil and Hercules about Terra. During this conversation Fil talks about the potential and hero wood of Terra who defeated Zack in combat, Aqua is confused but proud of Terra, and Fil explains the rules of the tournament and around the eastern and western blocks (the two big blocks ). Fil, Hercules, and Zack explain to Aqua how they met Terra and how Hades controlled Zack with darkness and how Terra saved him. Aqua breathed once more relieved and proud upon hearing this news.
Zack and Aqua fought in a match later, Zack being defeated. Zack accepts defeat with joy, and then Hades appears. Hades comes to see how the fight was going, and Zack gets angry when he sees him again. The god insults Terra and admits that he fought in the title match, and leaves the Ice Titan in a fight against Aqua while Zack tries to pursue him. Together, Aqua and Zack engage in battle against Hades and his icy companion. Hades disappointed in his defeat, and after possibly losing his only chance to control Zack, tells Aqua that one day he would get revenge on her and Terra. Zack, in turn, promises Aqua a fight without interruptions when he is a hero, and proposes a date in case he wins, which Aqua rejects with a blush.
Zack, in Kingdom Hearts has a design style very little seen until now, in which both the creators of Final Fantasy and those of Hercules intervened, giving distinctive details of the Disney Movie to the original character (this can be seen in his helmet , his armor, his knees and his ears for example). He is a little taller than Ventus. His design is also based on a Greek hoplite soldier (a mixed nod to his position in FF and the Hercules Movie). He has Jet Black hair, spiked with bangs that fall down the sides of his face, his distinctive soldier's eyes, and a cheerful smile that always crosses his face. He also maintains the same battle pose and some techniques the same as the original. As a weapon, he wields a soldier's regulation sword (the first weapon he wields in Crisis Core, before Angeal, his master gave him the deadly sword).
Zack's personality can be compared to that of Ventus although he has a more informal and daring character than this. He is happy, cheerful, and good at making new friends, regarded as how quickly he befriends Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Hercules, and Fil. It is also proven that he is a good sportsman and swordsman. Zack has his fair share of patience and seems to be very optimistic. His dream is to aspire to be a hero. Zack also retains his character as a flirt or romantic heartthrob, which he already possessed in Final Fantasy, and this is shown when he proposes a date to Aqua, in case he can defeat her one day.
Zack becomes a D-Nexus from encounters with Aqua, Terra, and Ventus, and consists of attacks that can accelerate speed, increase attack power, and create different types of combinations.
In the story of Aqua and Terra, you must talk to Fil or go to the Underworld respectively to face Zack, he will appear as a boss to defeat and Terra is in charge of saving him from the darkness, it is one of the most difficult since his movements They are fast and accurate, getting to defeat you in a matter of minutes, it is recommended to carry several potions and be at a medium level so that it is not too difficult. Upon defeating it, both Terra and Aqua will obtain their D-Link and can summon it.
Zack Fair first appeared in Final Fantasy VII, along with many others, as a minor, but important character in terms of his friend relationship with Cloud before appearing as a full-fledged character in the sequel, Crisis Core-Final Fantasy. VII. Having wielded the Mortal sword before Cloud, Zack was an aspiring member of the first class of the elite group of troops known as SOLDIER, whose goal is to become a hero.
- Zack's D-Nexus has the Lucky Leaf command, referring to UMD's roulette wheel from the Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core game, which he himself starred in.
